DEFINING STYLE
It is such an honor to have our interior design work featured alongside the talents of Rose Uniacke, Studio Shamshiri, Laura Gonzalez, and Vincenzo De Cotiis, among others, in the newly published book Defining Style: The Book of Interior Design by tastemaker Joan Barzilay Freund.
Published in March 2025 by Phaidon with forward by Asad Syrkett, our interior featuring the art of Danish master painter Lars Ly is included in the Biophilic section.
From the book:
“Biophilic design taps into our innate desire to align with nature and build emotional connections to spaces. Such ties encourage us to nurture and sustain the very environments in which we live, making it less of a trend and more of a design imperative.”
. . . . .
“Audra Kiewiet de Jonge used a whispery, floral wallpaper and a leafy Murano glass chandelier in the entrance foyer of her Richmond, Virginia, home. ‘The house is located in an urban environment with a small front garden with boxwoods,’ she says. ‘The lack of an extended natural environment outside makes the forest paper so impactful; it envelopes you when you enter the home and lends a sense of expansion and mystery.’”
